The Why

I spent nearly a decade working inside the healthcare system — in pharmacies, urgent care centers, and medical offices — along with formal training in healthcare management and medical billing and coding.

I’ve seen firsthand how insurance works, how referrals get delayed, how providers are rushed, and how easily patients get lost in the system. I thought I understood healthcare… until I became the patient on the other side of it.

After dealing with years of symptoms, dismissive doctors, endless wait times, insurance roadblocks, and vague diagnoses, I had to learn how to advocate for myself, find workarounds, and get the care I needed when the system wouldn’t cooperate. That experience is what inspired this blog.

I’m here to share the tools, shortcuts, and DIY strategies I had to figure out the hard way — so other patients don’t have to fight alone or reinvent the wheel just to get basic care.
